Project 2025 threatens our fundamental freedoms, so we’re giving humanists everywhere the tools to fight back.
Here’s what we’re doing:
- Hiring humanist students as Democracy Defense Fellows to spread the word about Project 2025 on their college campuses,
- Organizing humanist postcard-writing parties to raise awareness of Project 2025 in key swing states,
- Launching our largest-ever grant program for local AHA groups to defend democracy in their communities, and
- Creating dozens of shareable graphics and stickers to give every humanist easy tools to start conversations about Project 2025.
We can’t do this without your support. YOU hold the power. Whether you give $5 or $500, whether you write two postcards or 200, you’re playing an invaluable part in helping defend secular democracy. If we stay silent, the future will be written for us. Join us today–donate now and take action below!
Humanist Postcards to Swing States
Handwritten postcards are a proven tactic to reach voters before elections – and while we can’t tell anyone who to vote for, we can make sure people know about the significant threats to democracy posed by Project 2025.
We’re helping humanists organize postcard-writing parties to defend against Project 2025 – if you get a group together, we’ll send an AHA team member to give a training and pep talk on Zoom, and send you all the materials you need! If you’d rather just write postcards on your own, we can get those to you, too.
Democracy Defense Fellows
With the help of our partners at the Secular Student Alliance, we’re hiring young leaders as Democracy Defense Fellows on college campuses in key swing states – so students are informed about Project 2025 before they go to the polls.
Democracy Defense Fellows will directly engage the 42% of young people who say they don’t know enough about Project 2025 to have an opinion.
If you’re a college student in Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, or Wisconsin—apply to be a Democracy Defense Fellow here.
Giving Humanists the Tools to Start Conversations
We’ve all seen political ads that haven’t changed our minds. What works? Real conversations.
That’s why we’re giving humanists the tools to start conversations about Project 2025. Between now and the election, we’ll be posting dozens of shareable graphics highlighting the harms of Project 2025 on our social media pages that our nearly 800,000 followers can share to spark conversation with friends and family – not just about Project 2025, but about why humanists are opposed to it and what we believe.
We’re turning some of these graphics into stickers that any AHA member can order — for free, while supplies last! — for your laptop, water bottle, car, or anywhere you think will raise awareness and start a dialogue.
Follow us on social media to see more, and order your free stickers here.

John Dewey said it best: “Democracy is a way of life controlled by a working faith in the possibilities of human nature.” Well, we believe in people. And we believe in the American ideal that we, not someone else’s religious texts, should decide how we live our lives.
We can all do something to defend our democracy. Whether you donate or join our sticker brigade, you’re showing the White Christian Nationalists that humanists will always stand up for our values.
Thanks for your support!
