The American Humanist Association is appealing a federal judge’s denial of the group’s motion for a preliminary injunction to prevent Greenville County Schools from holding events in churches and other places of worship and allowing student-initiated prayer at those events.

District Superintendent Burke Royster and Mountain View Elementary’s principal also have been dropped as defendants in the case, court records show.
