Find Your Local Group

There are no requirements beyond bringing an open mind and an open heart. Some members lead events, some are passionate about advocacy, some come for the monthly conversations, and some dive into volunteering. If you’re showing up and engaging, you’re doing it right!

Nope! Chapters welcome everyone. That said, AHA membership supports the broader Humanist movement and comes with its own perks. 

We want everyone who thinks they might be a Humanist to feel welcome and empowered to join our movement. Most chapters offer online options, and many are actively working to make in-person events more accessible, too. Reach out to your local chapter directly – they want you to be there, and will do their best to make it work. 

Groups are where Humanism gets local. Members gather to learn, grow, volunteer and advocate for Humanist values in their communities. Every group has its own flavor, but the through-line is people working together to make the world a more compassionate place.

Groups are tagged to help you find your fit – whether you’re looking for a local Humanist chapter, a campus group, an online community or something more specialized. Each group is a little different.

We can also help you get connected to a group that meets remotely to join for virtual meetings and events, or you can join our Discord.
