Victory! Blunt Amendment Defeated In The Senate
On Thursday the Senate tabled the Blunt Amendment, which would have allowed employers to decline to cover certain health benefits that conflict with their religious beliefs. Thankfully, 51 senators voted against the “Respect for Rights of Conscience Act,” with 48 senators voting in favor of its passage.

Your voice informs Congress that Americans are opposed to religious extremism in government. With your continued help, the AHA will work to oppose all similar measures that attempt to inject religious fundamentalism into our nation’s laws.
