Send Season’s Greetings to Incarcerated Humanists

Facebook Twitter Email Share
December 21, 2025 | 12:00am - 11:59pm
Everywhere!

Help us spread some cheer by sending season’s greetings from a fellow humanist now through December 21.

Throughout the year, the American Humanist Association supports incarcerated people who identify as humanist, atheist, agnostic, and non-religious by providing them with AHA membership opportunities, literature, humanist pen pals, and assistance in forming humanist groups. They love hearing from other humanists, so please join our holiday letter campaign with these easy steps:

1. By December 21, email HumanismForAll@americanhumanist.org how many letters you’d like to write and we’ll match you with incarcerated humanists.

2. Print our secular holiday letters (PDFs below with editable text blocks), or use white paper to write or type a pleasant greeting. DO NOT use greeting cards, colored paper, stickers, attachments, or glitter.

3. Address letters TO Individual Name, ID#, Facility Address and FROM Your Name, American Humanist Association, 1821 Jefferson Place, Washington, DC 20036. (Using AHA as the return address enables us to handle bounces and follow up.) Please mail letters by December 31.

4. Email HumanismForAll@americanhumanist.org when the letter is mailed or if you aren’t able to send a letter.

5. If you’re interested in ongoing correspondence, complete our pen pal survey to be matched with one or more incarcerated humanists. Ongoing correspondences must go directly between pen pals, not through the AHA office, via snail mail or a prison email system.
