The AHA, Americans United for Separation of Church and State, and other national religious, religious freedom, and civil liberty organizations from diverse religious and belief backgrounds are urgently asking the Chairs of the House Rules Committee to protect the religious freedom of service members in the National Defense Authorization Act. Like all Americans, military personnel and their families have a right to religious freedom that is guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution. Congress has not only the power – but the responsibility – to protect their religious freedom.
