Light The Night “Registration Week” Aug. 5-11

August 5, 2013 News

Dear Friends,

We have exiting news regarding a new Light The Night “Registration Week” and incentive prizes for taking part! Once again, we at the American Humanist Association are encouraging all of our members to join the Foundation Beyond Belief (FBB) Light The Night Walk (LTN) team to benefit The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS). Joining as a part of FBB’s international team will highlight nontheists giving globally and raise awareness for local secular groups. Local teams’ donation amounts will be aggregated together under FBB’s international team and the first $250,000 raised will be matched by Todd Stiefel and his family, which doubles the impact of our fundraising efforts

The FBB LTN team organizers are having Registration Week August 5-11. If you are registered by the end of the week, you will be entered in a raffle for one of five $25 Amazon.com gift cards.

If you walked last year, your team is already in the walk system. All you need to do is join. If you didn’t walk last year, you can join an existing team in your area; LLS has already set up teams at every walk site in the US and Canada (for your convenience, see this list organized by state)! You can also form a new team by following this guide. Please encourage your friends, family, and fellow freethinkers to join us in the fight against cancer!

Your efforts will provide lifesaving blood cancer research, free educational materials and patient support services, such as Family Support Groups. Over 1,000,000 people in the United States are currently living with, or are in remission from leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease, or myeloma. To date, LLS has invested more than $875 million in research aimed at treating and curing blood cancer, with $70 million in 2012 alone.

Thank you so much for the work that you are already doing to support the AHA and our shared goals. I hope we can count on your support for LTN, too.

Sincerely,
