Different paths, some shared ground

TLDR: Your beliefs are your own, and we respect that. But you probably want the same basic thing we do: the freedom to believe without interference.

Maybe you’re just tired of belief being treated like a battle line instead of something people should be free to work out for themselves. Humanism, at the most basic level, is just the idea that people can be good and build a good life through reason and care for each other, whether or not that belief comes wrapped in faith.

 Something worth knowing: Humanism isn’t anti-religion. Plenty of our closest allies are deeply religious people who just also believe the government shouldn’t be picking winners in matters of faith.

That’s what the American Humanist Association exists for: protecting that freedom for you, for us, for everyone, without asking you to change a single belief.
