Amicus Brief
John Hickenlooper, Governor of the State of Colorado
v.
Freedom From Religion Foundation
We argued against Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper’s “Colorado Day of Prayer” proclamations for establishing religion in violation of the 1st Amendment.
This religious motivation is one that should remain a private matter free from government involvement. For a governor to use the office to officially endorse this kind of sentiment is not only unconstitutional, but an attack on religious freedoms.
