Dear Friend,

Religious conservatives in Congress are at it again. Recently, several voucher bills were introduced that would give money to private religious schools who could use that money to teach religion to their new ex-public school students. Even more troubling is the fact that these bills allow religious private schools that receive federal money to discriminate against students on the basis of gender and teachers on the basis of their religious beliefs, policies that are absolutely forbidden in public schools.

These bills, the Scholarships for Kids Act and the CHOICE Act, threaten everyone’s religious liberty by funding explicitly religious education and allowing federally funded private schools to discriminate.

We need your help to ensure public schools don’t lose any more money while private religious schools rake in federal dollars. Please take a moment to contact your U.S. Senators and Representative today and tell them you want them to oppose these bills.

Parents who want to send their children to private religious schools should be able to do so, but the taxpayer should not be forced to foot the bill for religious instruction, especially if that money comes from the already underfunded public school system.

Please take a moment now to contact our U.S. Senators and Representative and tell them to oppose these bills.

Thank you for standing up for public education and against government support of private religious schools.

Sincerely,
