Dear Friend,
In January, I let you know about the Darwin Day resolutions, H. Res. 699 and S. Res. 374, which had just been re-introduced in the U.S. House and Senate. We were proud to work with Representative Jim Himes and Sen. Richard Blumenthal to re-introduce these resolutions, which:
- State that evolution “provides humanity with a logical and intellectually compelling explanation for the diversity of life on Earth.”
- Demand that the “advancement of science be protected from those unconcerned with the adverse impacts of global warming and climate change.”
- Confirm that the “teaching of creationism in some public schools compromises the scientific and academic integrity of the United States’ education systems.”
Darwin Day is this Monday, and we need your help getting more members of Congress to co-sponsor these resolutions before then. Ask your Representative and Senators to co-sponsor these important resolutions and support science!
Let’s make this year’s Darwin Day the best one ever. Take a moment to ask your elected officials to co-sponsor the Darwin Day resolutions.
Thank you for standing up for science!
Sincerely,
Roy Speckhardt
Executive Director
