Dear Friend,
When human beings work together towards a common goal, great things can happen. That’s why the American Humanist Association and the Secular Coalition for America have teamed up to work with Congress to pass the Darwin Day resolution, which honors the legacy of Charles Darwin and the contributions of modern scientists to humanity. It also:
- States that evolution “provides humanity with a logical and intellectually compelling explanation for the diversity of life on Earth”
- Demands that the “advancement of science be protected from those unconcerned with the adverse impacts of global warming and climate change”
- Confirms that the “teaching of creationism in some public schools compromises the scientific and academic integrity of the United States’ education systems”
Because of our hard work, the AHA was able to get a Darwin Day resolution, H. Res. 548, introduced in the House of Representatives, while the SCA helped to introduce a similar resolution, S. Res. 337, in the Senate.
Our organizations are proud to work together, but for these resolutions to move through Congress, we need your help right now. Can you take a moment to contact your Representative and Senators and ask them to co-sponsor the Darwin Day resolution?
The nontheistic community is even more powerful when all of its members work together towards a common goal. Help show Congress the strength of our movement by contacting your Representative and Senators and asking them to co-sponsor the Darwin Day resolution.
Thank you for supporting Darwin Day!
Sincerely,
Roy Speckhardt
