MESSAGE FROM THE EDITOR: The Serious and Fun Sides of Humanism

Having worked for the American Humanist Association for over seven years, it’s amazing how the movement has grown in what really is a short period of time. The AHA takes seriously the dangerous growth of the intelligent design movement and the numerous church-state violations abound. But we also care about becoming more compassionate, and we like to have fun, too. That’s why Humanist Network News aims to be an informative and fun publication of humanist news. Next to serious discussions about timely topics, we put a trivia contest or puzzle to solve. To inspire our creative minds, we share humanist art and poetry. As we continue to move forward, I encourage you to share your thoughts and ideas with us on what you’d like to see in future issues. Write to us at hnn@americanhumanist.org.
